Filmmakers have been coming to Broken Hill and the Far West because of our unique combination of landscape and infrastructure for over 35 years now. Our reputation speaks for itself. We have hosted over 50 feature films television and documentary productions and more TVCs than we can put a number on. The filmmakers have shaped their films here and in some ways their filmmaking has shaped us. Our locations are diverse and unique, wrapped in magical light and surrounded by deafening silence with horizons that stretch for as long as you can remember. 21,000 of us live here: some because of the perseverance of our ancestors; some because of the beauty of our landscape; all because of the strength of our community. Our city is like no other. The mines that shaped our personality and economy for many years, now mostly dormant, sit on our eastern skyline. We have built a memorial and a restaurant on one of them. We go there to remember where we came from and look to where we are going… you can see for miles. PLEASE NOTE THIS SITE IS BEING UPDATE ......... 2008
